I Knew You

Here is a poem titled I knew you. It was inspired by a previous relationship with a girl from my high school. This was a reflection on my feelings about the relationship from my point of view and retrospect. Enjoy. 

I knew you so well but you didn't know yourself 

I tried to treat you like the queen that you were but you didn't know your wealth 

And you still don't and it's really nothing I can do 

But love you from a distance and hope that you follow through 

You deserve so much more than what you getting 

But same way we think with lower minds y'all follow kittens 

Superficial 

Maybe a false standard but it's double sided 

And these thoughts are multiplying like a cancer 

I search for answers 

But I can’t find 

A way to just make you mine 

And I feel like committing crimes 

When you act like you don’t have time for me 

Remember times when you opened up your mind for me 

Remember times when you trusted me and you lied for me 

Remember times when all you wanted was my time from me
